Ken Robak – Owner/Guide

I am a self-taught fly fisherman who grew up under the bright lights of the big city, Chicago. Now living in Colorado the last twenty plus years fly fishing has been more to me than just a weekend hobby. The sport has become the staple that most my life revolves around, now that I’m retired. I have for the past several years been a fly fishing owner/guide (Utah and Colorado) for private clients and teaching classes. Fly fishing for wild trout in Colorado’s rivers, streams and creeks is what I enjoy the most. I like being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a day to explore the breathtaking river scenery. The grace of fly fishing is something that I have always loved. The simple fact that you have a chance of hooking into a trophy trout is just icing on the cake to enjoying the wilderness and meeting new clients.

“Deke” Blea – Guide

When I was in college at CSU I had already been fly fishing for quite a few years. I loved it so much that the nearby Poudre River kept me away from my studies. It was then I decided on at least an “initial” career direction…trout bum. For over 30 years now I’ve continued to hold my passion for the outdoors and fly fishing. I went on to commercial fly tyer, fly shop manager, Alaska Guide and at the age of 24 opened my own fly shop (Alpine Angler). Honing my trade, I continued to teach the skills of fly fishing, fly tying and rod building. After selling my shop I worked and consulted for a fly importer developing new patterns, training fly tyers and building countless custom rods. Since then I’ve continued to embrace the great outdoors and fly fishing and have found that my satisfaction of helping anyone who wants to learn has never left me. As a native of Colorado and knowing what waters lay in my “backyard”, I can think of no better place to continue this pursuit. “Welcome to Ken’s Anglers”

Tom Caprio – Guide

Originally from the east coast, I went to college in Vermont in a ski area/ recreation management program, and then migrated to the big mountains of Colorado. When I was 24, I started and still run a group travel business that specializes in ski and summer trips to the resorts and rafting rivers of Colorado and New Mexico. I enjoy sharing my love of the mountains and fly fishing. Fly fishing for trout in Colorado gets you to some of the country’s prettiest places, and allows you to be immersed in an activity that blocks out all the stresses of day to day life. I like fishing a variety of water from small creeks to big rivers, beaver ponds to reservoirs, and especially high mountain lakes and streams. I enjoy helping others improve their skills and seeing the excitement when they catch fish in beautiful surroundings. In addition, I’ve taught skiing in the past, and am a current hiking/backpack trip leader and fly fishing instructor for the Colorado Mountain Club.
